Solar power is great for generating clean, renewable energy, but energy storage is key for the future of renewable energy. About a year ago I had a Tesla Powerwall installed at my house. Not only has it been helping to stretch my solar power generation into the night, but I’ve been participating in a virtual power plant system with over a thousand other homeowners in my area. Let’s take a look at my experience with my Tesla Powerwall, solar panels, and a local virtual power plant to see if it can be a viable path for the future of energy storage.
