Stora Enso, Your Path to Sustainable Urban Innovation – Reaching New Heights with Mass Timber Construction
In the ever-evolving landscape of construction, where sustainability and innovation reign supreme, one company stands at the forefront of revolutionizing building materials – Stora Enso. With their pioneering mass timber products such as cross-laminated timber (CLT), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), and glued-laminated timber (GLT), they are reshaping the future of sustainable urban areas.
Gone are the days of conventional building methods. Stora Enso’s mass timber products allow you to transcend the perceived limitations of wood, enabling the construction of robust, stable, yet remarkably lightweight structures. With longer spans and unprecedented building heights achievable without complicated fixings or specialized labor, a new era of architecture has dawned.
Embracing mass timber construction not only saves time and costs but also promotes resource efficiency and reduces waste and noise. In addition to these advantages, it also enhances health and safety on the construction site. But the benefits don’t end there – mass timber is a renewable resource that actively stores carbon, contributing to sustainable development and environmental preservation.
So, why choose mass timber for your next project? The reasons are abundant:
Quicker, Quieter, and Safer Construction for Time and Cost Savings
Attractive, Innovative Designs Without Sacrificing Structural Requirements
A Strong yet Lightweight, High-Quality Material
Improved Thermal Insulation and Acoustic Performance
High Sustainability Credentials for a Lower Carbon Footprint
Certified Wood from Traceable Sources (FSC and PEFC)

Official Review
I had the pleasure of meeting the extremely helpful and friendly Stora Enso team at Bau, Munich, in April 2023. Stora Enso is, from my understanding, one of the largest pulp and paper manufacturers in the world, with a significant presence in the renewable materials sector. They produce a diverse range of products, including packaging, biomaterials, wood products, and paper. The company boasts a rich history dating back to the 13th century, and it is headquartered in Helsinki, Finland.
Stora Enso’s contributions to the wooden building systems sector focus on the production of engineered wood products such as cross-laminated timber (CLT) and laminated veneer lumber (LVL). These materials are embraced in modern construction for their sustainability, strength, and versatility. I have observed their projects spanning from residential housing to multistorey buildings. I highly recommend reaching out to Stora Enso if you are contemplating undertaking mass timber building projects.
